Things to do

One of the beauties of The Lodge at Saalbach - Hinterglemm is the never-ending things to do all year round.  Set within the Austrian Alps, in the winter it is a skiers dream with a huge number of runs that cater from complete novice to expert.  In the summer months, the Alps turn into a haven for those that love the outdoors, with mountain biking and hiking routes.

Winter

“The Challenge” of the Skicircus takes you on a 65km journey through the slopes of Saalbach, Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn.  This is a full day out and one of the longest routes in the Alps.  The day promises the exhilaration of skiing, matched with breathaking panoramic views.  You can compete with others by comparing times recorded on skilin.cc as well as receiving “The Challenge” badge at the skiline terminal, with further badges available on all the individual circuits that make up the challenge.

Summer

Saalbach is home to Austria’s largest bike region with hundreds of kilometers of trails along the beautiful mountains, using the cable cars to move between the mountains.  Hikers will also relish in over 400km of hiking trails, with many spots to stop at for refreshments. And for those that are looking for an adrenaline rush, look no further than the largest high rope course in Europe, canyoning or go-karting, and much much more.

All year round

Regardless of when you visit Saalbach, you will be greeted with great hospitality, a wonderful variety of restaurants and bars and fun things to do.  We would also highly recommend you spend a day visiting the historic city of Salzburg, 1hour 40 minutes away by car.  This beautiful city is the fourth largest in Austria and is the birthplace of Mozart.  Salzburg is linked to the Trapp family in the Sound of Music and you can follow Marias steps around the picturesque city visiting attractions such as  Hellbrunn Castle and the Mirabell Gardens.
