Things to do
Lyme Regis will always have something to delight and entertain you and your guests, with a whole host of events taking place throughout the year. From the Great Duck Race in January, through to the Carnival week in the summer and the annual Christmas lights turn on to see out the year.
Fun on the water
One of the main attractions in Lyme Regis is the huge expanse of water that provides the vista to the town.
Boat trips are one of the best ways to explore the stunning Jurassic Coast. There is a wide variety of trips to choose from during the summer months, or why not book onto one of the many sailing courses? The protective wall of The Cobb also makes Lyme Regis a perfect place to learn to paddleboard or kayak.
Walking in Lyme Regis
From the historic, sea-swept Cobb, to beaches full of fossils and secluded woodland paths, you’ll never run out of places to explore on walks in Lyme Regis.
One of our firm favourite things to do when visiting our home in Lyme Regis is to pack a bag with water and snacks, put on our walking boots and head off for a day of walking. We don’t always want a long walk, sometimes just a gentle stroll to get some lunch.
Other days we opt for one of the most beautiful walks, up and over the cliff tops, with stunning views of the Jurassic coast and English Channel.
Things to do with the Kids
There is never a dull moment in Lyme Regis for kids of all ages. The beach is one of the best places on the Jurassic Coast to go fossil hunting, either on your own or on a Fossil Walk tour. There is also the Marine Museum, DinosaurLand and the lovely aquarium on The Cobb. On the seafront, delight in some time in the arcades or head up into the Langmoor and Lister Gardens and enjoy the 18-hole mini golf course or hire one of the outdoor table tennis tables.
