A little bit about us
Obstgarten Home founder, Susie, has an infectious passion which runs through every aspect of her life. Having met her husband, Adam, at university she carved a successful recruitment career in London. After the birth of her first child, Susie thought she would slow the pace of life down and retire from the city. Life did not slow down for long: having completed the London marathon, she retrained as a personal trainer, which taught her the techniques she then used to change her training and complete her next marathon in a PB of 4 hours 11 minutes.
Susie and Adam were blessed with two further children and this sporty family finds themselves weekly on the side-lines of rugby, hockey and cricket matches, as well as enjoying her other passion, horses, especially dressage, with her daughter who competes for Great Britain in the sport.
Her passion runs into the heritage properties that she has carefully sourced in locations that have sentimental values to her and her family.’ Susie’s attention to their restoration, renovation and interior design displays this. They are truly her homes from home.
After honeymooning in Saalbach, Susie fell in love with the resort and spent winters skiing there and summers hiking and biking in the mountains. When The Lodge became available, she knew that the resort was a place she and her family would continue to visit for years to come. She purchased her first commercial property and Obstgarten Homes was born.
Susie has also spent many years holidaying in Lyme Regis, enjoying the coastal walks with her family and dogs. She had always coveted Lym House, which is close to her family’s home. When it came up for sale in 2017 Susie knew she could give it the love and care Lym House needed to renovate it to the house she had always wished it had been.
And so the story continues…
Susie founded Obstgarten Homes in 2020 to give families and friends luxurious spaces to enjoy their holidays, feeling spoilt in their incredible settings. All properties in the portfolio are lovingly designed to give you a 5* retreat, in superbly convenient locations. All homes have on-site parking and include all you could possibly need to enjoy your self-catering holiday.
