The Heart of Alpine Biking

Saalbach isn’t just known for biking, it’s one of the best in Europe.

Over 400km of trails link Saalbach, Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn, creating a network that works for everyone:

  • First-time riders finding their confidence
  • Flow trails that wind effortlessly through the forest
  • Technical descents and downhill runs for serious adrenaline

Lift-assisted riding means less climbing, more riding — and more time doing what you came for.

Even if you’ve never done it before, this is the place to start.

Where the Paths Lead

In Saalbach, you don’t really “plan” a walk, you just start.

Maybe it’s the lift up to Schattberg to skip the climb, or heading out towards Reiterkogel with no real route in mind. Either way, you’re quickly above it all.

The trails open up fast here. One minute you’re in the trees, the next you’re on a ridge-line with everything laid out in front of you. Valleys dropping away, and peaks rolling on in every direction.

You’ll pass mountain huts just when you need them, a cold drink or something simple to eat, before heading back out again.

And that’s the thing about Saalbach.
Nothing feels fixed.

You move between trails, lifts, and ridgelines without overthinking it, and somehow end up exactly where you want to be.

Beyond the Trails

If hiking and biking aren’t enough, summer in Saalbach doesn’t stop there.

The High Ropes Park Saalbach Hinterglemm (Hochseilpark) runs through the forest canopy, and is one of the largest in Europe. With over 200 stations set above the valley floor.

For something faster, the Flying Fox XXL sends you flying across the valley at speed, one of the fastest and longest zip lines in Europe.

And for something completely different, white water rafting on the nearby Saalbach River brings a different kind of energ, fast-moving water, narrow sections, and just enough unpredictability to keep it interesting.

There’s always something else to do, another trail, another route, another way to stay out just a little longer.

This is a place built for people who don’t come inside early.

Saalbachs Summer Lakes
